Mushrooms 1999
They are divided into two categories; edible and poisonous. The edible kind are, generally speaking, one of the favorite dishes of the gourmet, and to such an extent, that in certain countries, their market value is extremely high. The poisinous ones are well-known for their harmful effect to the health, some of which are fatal if eaten; an example of which is the murder of the Roman Emperor, Claudius I, who himself was extremely keen on mushrooms, and, as legend has it, was supposed to have been poisoned after eating mushrooms served by his wife, Agrippina, who wanted to secure the succession of favour of her son, Nero, as Emperor. Many people die each year because of eating poisonous mushrooms; it is therefore strongly recommended to eat only well-known types of ones which are supplied by specialists.

The enormous variety of existing species, their vast differences in size, shape and colour, have been the reason for many postal-administration organizations to issue numerous series, and in doing so, have spread information to many others which regard to both their own native species and those from other countries. Issues, that simply because of their spectacular beauty and colour are worth collecting, also have the added value of their important pedagogical and instructive qualities.
